ABOUT JIANCHENG MO
Landscape photographer based in Maryland, USA.
I first got my hands on a camera that my dad bought for travels when I was in elementary school. Back then, my parents used to take my brother and I on trips to various locations within China such as Guilin, a place known for its limestone karst hills, and Huangshan (the Yellow Mountain). I got serious about landscape photography during college. Since then, I just fell in love with exploring the nature with my camera. Cape Cod was definitely my first practice ground for photography, not only because it was relatively close from Boston, where I went to college, but also because it offers so much gorgeous landscapes and seascapes. From there, I began exploring the White Mountains in New Hampshire to improve my photography with mountains and waterfalls.
Landscape photography had become a stronger passion than I ever thought. It offered the opportunity for me to view the beauty of nature through a len and helped me escape from stress and anxiety from school and work. I graduated from pharmacy school in 2022 and moved to Maryland to pursue my PhD in Pharmacology. However, the exploration (with my camera) never ends. For the next few years, I am planning to photograph the southeast Appalachian Mountains alongside with my wife and travel to other parts of the world whenever we have time. My dream as a photographer is to one day photograph the landscapes of China and present to the world the beauty of my beloved country.
